Internal Rules of the Clinic
Dear Patients,
Welcome to the Clinic of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology Zlín. Thank you for the trust you have placed in us by choosing our clinic and entrusting your care to our team. Our aim is to create a pleasant and reassuring atmosphere throughout your treatment, build mutual trust, and minimise any stress or concerns you may have through an individual and personal approach. Your health is our highest priority, and we therefore provide medical care of the highest professional standard, using modern technologies, procedures and the latest developments in medical science.
Your positive, cooperative and active approach to treatment, your trust in the expertise of our doctors, nurses and embryology laboratory staff, as well as your close cooperation with them and compliance with these Internal Rules, will help us make your treatment as effective and successful as possible.
Throughout your treatment, you will be cared for by a team of highly qualified healthcare professionals led by your attending physician, who will determine the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment plan. You have the right to receive clear and understandable information about your health condition and about all available examination and treatment options. Please follow the advice and instructions of the healthcare professionals responsible for your care.
You have the right to choose a healthcare provider authorised to provide healthcare services corresponding to your medical needs and to request a consultation from a healthcare provider other than the provider currently responsible for your care.
A healthcare facility chosen by a patient may refuse to accept the patient into its care if accepting the patient would result in an excessive workload for the facility, or if their admission is prevented by operational reasons, staffing capacity, or the technical and material resources of the healthcare facility.
The healthcare facility may terminate the care of a patient if the patient is demonstrably transferred, with their consent, to the care of another healthcare provider, or if the reasons for providing healthcare services no longer apply. Care may also be terminated if the patient:
- refuses the provision of all healthcare services,
- seriously infringes upon the rights of other patients,
- deliberately and repeatedly fails to comply with the proposed individual treatment plan,
- fails to comply with these Internal Rules and such behaviour is not caused by their health condition,
- ceases to provide the cooperation necessary for the continued provision of healthcare services.
Termination of care must under no circumstances result in an immediate threat to the patient’s life or serious harm to their health.
A healthcare professional has the right not to provide healthcare services if providing such services would directly endanger their life or seriously endanger their health.
A healthcare professional may refuse to provide healthcare services to a patient if providing such services would conflict with their conscience or religious beliefs. In such a case, appropriate care will be provided by another healthcare professional. If the clinic is unable to provide another healthcare professional, it will arrange for another healthcare facility to provide the required healthcare services, unless you refuse such an arrangement. A record of any refusal to arrange another healthcare professional or healthcare facility will form part of the patient’s medical records. A healthcare professional may not refuse to provide healthcare services for the reasons stated above if such refusal would endanger the patient’s life or seriously endanger their health.
Our clinic guarantees the confidentiality and protection of all your personal data. Your treatment will be provided discreetly and with the utmost respect for your privacy.
Information regarding your health condition will only be disclosed by the doctor to persons whom you have designated in writing. In view of our duty of confidentiality, please specify in advance to whom such information may be provided.
Before attending an outpatient appointment or being admitted for a procedure in the operating theatre, please present your identity card without being asked so that your identity can be verified, together with your health insurance card. Your health insurance company will cover the costs associated with your treatment to the extent provided for by law and your insurance coverage. The patient is required to pay the healthcare provider for any healthcare services that are not covered, or are only partially covered, by public health insurance.
Self-paying patients will receive healthcare services based on their request and consent and in accordance with the clinic’s current price list. Our aim is to minimise the financial burden on patients and to ensure that prices are presented clearly and transparently so that the final cost can be anticipated.
All payments must be made in accordance with the conditions set out in the relevant treatment information and consent documents, usually no later than on the day of the procedure and before the procedure is performed. Otherwise, the procedure cannot be carried out. Any exceptions are subject to approval by the Director of the Clinic.
Payments are made on weekdays at the Financial Department and at weekends at the clinic reception. The clinic accepts cash payments in CZK, EUR and USD, as well as payment cards including American Express, VISA, VISA Electron, V PAY, Maestro, MasterCard, MasterCard Electronic, Diners Club International and Discover.
When entering a consulting room, please do not leave your personal belongings in the waiting area. A designated storage area is available inside the consulting room. Please do not bring large amounts of cash or other valuables, such as items made of precious metals or payment cards, especially during your stay in the day-care unit.
If necessary, valuables may be deposited in the safe at reception. The receptionist will provide you with a “Receipt for Valuables Deposited for Safekeeping”, which you must present when leaving the clinic in order to have your valuables returned. Only on presentation of this document may you subsequently submit a claim against the clinic for compensation in the event of any loss.
Before entering the day-care unit, please wait for a nurse to come and accompany you to your bed. Please hand the nurse all documents and declarations relating to your procedure. Throughout your stay, follow the instructions of the clinic’s healthcare professionals.
Store your belongings in the lockable wardrobe provided. You may attach the key to your nightdress. Please bring and use your own clothing for your stay in the day-care unit, such as a nightdress and slippers. Bed linen is changed after every patient.
If you feel unwell, repeatedly press the red button on the call system located behind the bed and wait for a nurse to attend to you.
Please maintain cleanliness throughout the clinic premises and leave all facilities as clean as you would wish to find them. Please inform the receptionist if you find that any room or facility is not fit for use, for example due to soiling or a lack of towels or toilet paper.
Please dispose of waste only in the designated and clearly marked bins. Do not interfere with water, lighting or signalling equipment, including medical gas distribution systems. For your own protection, maintain good personal hygiene and follow the recommendations of the healthcare staff.
During your stay at the clinic, please observe generally accepted standards of respectful social behaviour. Respect the privacy and rights of other patients. The clinic management continuously monitors patient satisfaction with our services and is available to address your suggestions, comments and complaints.
If you discover a fire or any other emergency, please report it immediately to the clinic staff and follow the instructions provided by our employees.
These Internal Rules of the Clinic of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology are valid and effective as of 1 November 2012. The Internal Rules also include the List of Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities and the Procedure for Handling Complaints. Failure to comply with the Internal Rules may result in the early termination of treatment.
We wish you every success with your treatment.
