Social Freezing

Also known as gamete freezing – preserve your chance to have children whenever you are ready.

Preserve Your Fertility and Keep Your Future Options Open

Social freezing, also known as egg freezing, is an advanced fertility preservation technique that allows women to store their eggs for future use.

What is Social Freezing?

The best outcomes are generally achieved when eggs are frozen between the ages of 25 and 35, when egg quality and reproductive potential are typically at their highest. The eggs are then safely stored for future use.

This treatment offers women greater flexibility when planning their future and helps preserve reproductive potential until the time feels right to start a family.

Who can benefit from egg freezing?

A safeguard for life’s journey — today for tomorrow

Egg freezing may be a suitable option for women who:

  • wish to postpone motherhood for personal, educational, or career reasons,
  • do not currently have a partner but would like to preserve the possibility of having biological children,
  • want to preserve eggs collected at a younger age,
  • wish to maintain greater reproductive flexibility for the future.

How does the treatment process work?

1.

Contact with Your Coordinator

The whole process begins with communication with our coordinator, who will provide you with all the necessary information about treatment, prices, organization of the stay, and recommended examinations.

2.

Preparation Before Travel

Most of the initial tests can be completed in your home country. The results are then sent to the coordinator and reviewed by a doctor.

3.

Ovarian Stimulation

Once treatment begins, hormonal injections are administered for approximately 10–12 days to stimulate the ovaries and support the development of multiple mature eggs. The goal is to obtain an optimal number of high-quality eggs for freezing. Each treatment protocol is tailored individually based on the patient’s age, hormonal profile, and ovarian reserve.

4.

Egg Retrieval

Egg retrieval is performed as an outpatient procedure under short general anaesthesia. The procedure itself usually takes approximately 10–15 minutes.

After the procedure, patients remain in the recovery room under medical supervision for approximately 2 hours.

5.

Egg Freezing and Comfortable Stay

The retrieved mature eggs are frozen immediately using vitrification and safely stored for future use. This advanced cryopreservation method provides excellent survival rates after thawing.

The clinic also includes the Tomášov Hotel, which offers comfortable accommodation directly on the premises. The hotel part is located in the immediate vicinity of the embryology department and the operating room, which ensures maximum comfort for clients throughout their stay.

After egg retrieval and approximately two hours of convalescence, the patient is taken directly to her hotel room by medical staff, where she can rest in peace. The hotel offers modernly equipped rooms, the option of half board and a pleasant environment for regeneration after the procedure. Wellness services and massages are also available, which can contribute to the overall comfort during the stay.

Thanks to the connection of the clinical and hotel parts under one roof, clients can complete the entire process in maximum comfort, without the need to move between individual facilities.

When is the best time to freeze eggs?

In general, egg freezing is recommended before the age of 35, when egg quality is usually at its highest. However, every patient is unique, and recommendations should always be based on an individual fertility assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

The success of egg freezing depends on several factors, particularly your age at the time of freezing, egg quality, the number of eggs retrieved and the laboratory conditions.

In general, egg freezing allows you to preserve your fertility potential at the age at which your eggs are collected. However, it is important to understand that freezing eggs does not guarantee a future pregnancy. Your individual chances should always be assessed by a fertility specialist.
In general, the best time to consider egg freezing is between the ages of 25 and 35, when egg quality and ovarian reserve are typically higher.

However, every woman’s situation is different, and it can be worthwhile discussing fertility preservation at other ages too. It is never too early to learn more about your fertility and explore the options available to you.
The recommended number of eggs depends mainly on your age, ovarian reserve and hormonal profile.

Generally, the more good-quality mature eggs that are frozen, the higher the chance of achieving a successful pregnancy in the future. Your doctor will assess your individual situation and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan.
Egg retrieval is performed under short general anaesthesia, so you should not feel any pain during the procedure.

Most women feel well enough to go home after a few hours. Mild abdominal discomfort, bloating or tiredness may occur afterwards, particularly during the first day, but most patients are able to return to their usual routine relatively quickly.
Hormonal stimulation helps the ovaries produce several mature eggs during one menstrual cycle rather than the single egg that would normally develop.

During stimulation, you may experience temporary side effects such as bloating, breast tenderness, tiredness or mood changes.

Throughout the treatment, you will be carefully monitored by our medical team to ensure that the stimulation is both safe and appropriate for your individual response.
No. Egg freezing does not reduce your natural fertility or negatively affect your future menstrual cycles.

The eggs collected during stimulation are taken from the group of follicles developing during that particular cycle. Freezing them does not decrease your future chances of conceiving naturally.

Frozen eggs or sperm are simply stored as a fertility reserve for the future.
In most cases, elective Social Freezing is not covered by health insurance.

However, fertility preservation may be covered in certain medical circumstances, for example before cancer treatment or another therapy that may affect fertility.

Our team will be happy to advise you on whether any form of reimbursement may apply in your individual situation.
The entire egg-freezing process usually takes approximately 2–4 weeks, including the initial consultation, examinations, hormonal stimulation and egg retrieval.

The stimulation itself generally lasts around 10–14 days.

Sperm freezing is a much simpler process and can usually be arranged within a few days.
Eggs and sperm can be stored for many years, and in suitable conditions even for several decades.

Thanks to modern vitrification and cryopreservation techniques, reproductive cells can remain safely preserved for a very long period of time.
As with any medical procedure, there are some potential risks, but serious complications are uncommon.

During hormonal stimulation, women may experience bloating, abdominal discomfort, breast tenderness or temporary changes in mood. In rare cases, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) may occur.

Egg retrieval is a routine minimally invasive procedure performed under short general anaesthesia, and complications are rare.

Throughout the entire process, our medical team carefully monitors your health and response to treatment to make the procedure as safe and comfortable as possible.
